Smart Resilient Data Transport
The aim of this project is to develop energy efficient and resilient data transport mechanisms for the SmartWire sensor network. These mechanisms, as shown in the figure below, will span the medium access control (MAC), network, and transport layers of the network stack. Additionally, we intend to leverage the cross-layer optimization design approach that has been shown to provide better network performance compared to the traditional layered approach. However, such approach needs to be used with caution. Thus, we need to develop suitable network protocols and mechanisms and ensure coordination of optimization processes at the different layers of the protocol stack.
